Good vision is very important sense, unfortunately, it gets worse over the years. People forget about proper working habits as well - it is a common truth that working with computer without taking breaks is unhealthy for the eyes. There are few options to regain the good vision - you could choose glasses or contact lenses. Majority of people choose contact lenses due to their convenience. However, they should be aware about all the possible complications of wearing contact lenses. There are two types of complications related to contact lenses wear. Infectious complications are considered to be more dangerous to the vision, people with such condition are always treated in the hospital. The identification of the infectious agent is very important, because after a confirmation the right treatment is prescribed more efficiently. However, the majority of all complications are noninfectious. Doctors, who work in primary care units, should know more about such conditions. The appropriate diagnosis and treatment of noninfectious complications would prevent the infectious complications development. One of the common complications is the cornea endothelial changes. Such defects could occur over the years, or even after several times of contact lens wear. Cornea hypoxia is considered to be the most important factor in the development of contact lens complications. This condition initiates the appearance of endothelial polymegethism, en do the lial pleomorphysm, the reduction in hexagonal cells count. Two clinical cases and the newest literature review about cornea endothelial changes are presented in this article.
